Cookie Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
In short
- We use a few essential cookies to make our website, chat, online tools and client portal work. They don't track you.
- With your permission we count visits, without cookies and without identifying you.
- We don't use advertising or social media tracking cookies.
- Your choice applies to our website, our client portal and our online tools, and you can change it at any time with the cookie button in the bottom corner of our website's pages, or on this page.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information in your browser's own storage, which works in a similar way. This policy covers both, on our website, our online tools (the planners, the Solar Estimator and Authenticate Document) and our client preview portal. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy.
2. Essential cookies
These are needed for the parts of our website you choose to use, so they are always on. You can block them in your browser, but forms, the chat and the client portal may then stop working.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| cb_session | Keeps our forms secure and remembers your session while you browse. | 2 hours |
| lc_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you allowed us to count visits, on our website and client portal. | 6 months |
| lc_theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, on our website and client portal. Only set if you use the switch in the header. | 1 year |
| lc_chat_handover | Lets a chat you are having carry on when you move between our website and our client portal. Only set if you are chatting. | 5 minutes |
| preview_portal_session | Keeps you signed in to the client portal after you open your link. Client portal only. | 8 hours |
| cb_preview_staff | Lets our own staff open client previews. Not set for visitors. | 2 hours |
3. Information stored in your browser
| What | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your chat | Keeps the conversation on screen as you move between pages. | Until you close the browser tab, or choose Clear chat |
| Quote details from the chat | Fills in the quote form with what you told the chat, if you choose to go on to it. | Until you close the browser tab |
| Your answers in a planner or the Solar Estimator | Keeps your answers if you close the planner by mistake or open the Solar Estimator's full view, so you don't have to start again. They stay in your browser and reach us only if you send them or save a PDF. | Until you close the browser tab, send them or choose Start again |
| Your cookie choice | An earlier copy of your choice, from before it was shared with our client portal. | Until you clear your browser's data |
4. Counting visits
If you allow it, each page you open sends us the page address, the website you came from (its name only), your device type, browser, country and a visitor code that changes every day. This uses no cookies and we don't store your IP address with it; see section 2 of our Privacy Policy. If you don't allow it, or your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, nothing is counted.
5. Other services on our pages
- Fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
- Bot protection. Some forms and sign-in pages check that you are a person. Our own check sets no cookies: your browser just solves a small puzzle. If we use Cloudflare Turnstile instead, it may store a small amount of information in your browser to tell people from automated programs; it is not used for advertising or to follow you to other websites.
- Map. The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy for how it uses them.
- Links. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram take you to those services, which have their own cookie and privacy policies. Nothing from them loads on our pages until you follow a link.
6. Your choices
- Use the cookie button in the bottom corner of our website's pages, or Change your cookie choice on this page, to allow or stop counting visits. In our online tools, Privacy & cookies at the bottom brings you here. Your choice applies to all of them.
- You can also delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of our website may not work.
7. Changes and contact
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this policy and the date at the top, and ask for your choice again where needed. Questions? Email privacy@lacollinezm.com.
