Terms of Service

Last updated 15 October 2026

In short

  • Use our website, chat and online tools fairly and lawfully.
  • Information on the website, answers from our chat assistant, and estimates from the Solar Estimator and our planners are a guide. Prices and commitments are only binding when we confirm them in writing.
  • Documents from us carry a reference you can check with Authenticate Document. Don't rely on, or pay against, a document that doesn't check out.
  • Client previews are confidential work in progress. Share them only with people working on the project with you.
  • Zambian law applies.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the website of Lacolline Engineering Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), our chat assistant and our online tools: the planners on our service pages, the Solar Estimator, Authenticate Document and our client preview portal (Client Previews). By using them you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

We are Lacolline Engineering Ltd, a company registered in Zambia, at Plot 2002 Jambo Drive, Riverside, Kitwe, Copperbelt Province. You can reach us at info@lacollinezm.com or +260 969 756 793.

2. Using our website and online tools

You may use our website and online tools to learn about our services, plan a project, contact us and request quotes. Please don't:

  • try to get into parts of the website, our online tools or our systems that aren't meant for you, or test or bypass their security;
  • send spam, malicious files or misleading information through our forms or chat, or pretend to be someone else;
  • copy large parts of the website, or collect information from it with automated tools; or
  • use the website in a way that breaks the law or interferes with other people's use of it.

We may block access, or ignore messages, that break these rules.

3. Information, prices and availability

We work to keep our website accurate and up to date, but it is general information about our services, not professional advice for your situation. Prices and packages shown on the website are a guide and may change. The price and scope of any work are those in the written quotation or agreement we give you.

4. Quotes and our services

A quote is based on what you tell us and is valid for the period stated on it. Work we do for you is governed by the proposal, quotation or agreement we sign with you. If that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement applies.

5. Our chat assistant

  • The chat assistant is automated. It answers from information we have published and can be wrong or incomplete.
  • Its answers are not professional advice and do not create an agreement, a price or a commitment. Please confirm anything important with our team, who can take over the chat when you ask.
  • Don't share passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information in the chat.
  • How we handle chat messages is explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. Planners and the Solar Estimator

  • The planners on our service pages help you describe what you need. The summary they make, on screen or as a PDF, is a record of your answers, not a quote or an offer.
  • The Solar Estimator works out an estimate from your answers, typical figures for appliances and equipment, and long-term sunshine averages for your town. What you really need depends on your site, your equipment and how you use it, which our engineers confirm after a site assessment. The estimate is not a quote, an offer or a design.
  • Please don't buy equipment or make other decisions on the strength of an estimate alone. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by doing so.
  • The price and the system we supply are those in our written quotation.

7. Documents we issue and Authenticate Document

  • PDFs made on our website, and other documents we issue with a reference, can be checked with Authenticate Document (linked at the bottom of our pages) or by scanning their QR code.
  • Only the version shown there is ours. If a document's reference isn't found, or what it says differs, we did not issue it in that form and are not bound by it.
  • Estimates and summaries made on our website are never quotes or invoices. Never make a payment against one, and contact us if anyone asks you to.
  • Don't alter our documents, or make documents that appear to come from us. We may report forgery or fraud to the authorities.

8. The client preview portal

  • Who it's for. The portal, Client Previews, is for our clients and the people they ask us to register for their project.
  • Sign-in links. Links we email you are for you and your colleagues working on the same project. You may forward a link to such a colleague; please don't share it with anyone else. If you think someone else has your link, tell us.
  • Confidential work in progress. Previews show unfinished work and may contain placeholder text and images. Please don't publish, copy or share them outside your team, and don't rely on them as the final product.
  • Ending access. We may end access to a preview when a project ends, when your organisation asks us to, or to protect the work or the portal.

9. Intellectual property

The content of our website, including text, photos, videos, our name and logo, belongs to us or is used with permission. You may view it and print or save pages for your own reference. You may not reuse it for other purposes without our written permission.

Who owns a website or other work we build for you is set out in your project agreement. Materials you give us remain yours.

10. What you send us

When you send us a message, a quote request or a file, you confirm that you are allowed to share it and that it is accurate as far as you know. We use it only to respond to you, prepare a quote or carry out work you ask for, as our Privacy Policy explains. We treat drawings, documents and other business information you send us as confidential.

11. Links to other services

Our website links to services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. They have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the website and our online tools available, but they may be unavailable at times, for example while we update them. We may change or remove parts of the website at any time.

13. Our responsibility to you

We provide the website, chat and online tools with reasonable care. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by relying on general information on the website, on the chat assistant's answers or on an estimate without confirming them with us, by relying on a document that doesn't check out with Authenticate Document, or by the website being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited under the laws of Zambia, or your rights under them. Our responsibility for work we do for you is set out in your project agreement.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal information and cookies. They form part of these terms.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. If you have a concern, please contact us first; we will try to resolve it with you within 30 days. If we can't, either of us may refer it to the courts of Zambia.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add services or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version on this page when you use the website applies.
